    Walk-in Appointments

We will do our best to treat walk-in patients as the schedule allows. If you are able to refer to our scheduler, you will have a good sense of when we may have time to treat you. Your best bet is to make an appointment online!

Calls and texts may not be answered for up to 24 hours. We do not schedule via e-mail.
You are also welcome to stop by to get on the schedule, however you may have to wait up to 20 minutes as we may be busy with patients, and are unable to walk away mid-treatment.

    Ack, I'm late!!

We understand you can't control the weather, the MTA, or the traffic! Things happen. If you are running late, we will make our best effort to still treat you, however if you are still within the window of your treatment time please note that your treatment time will be shortened. Please be aware that appointments are packed together, with up to 6 patients arriving for treatments every hour. So you can understand why being late might gum up our system and have a serious ripple effect that will effect the entire rest of the day.
For this reason, if you are more than 20 minutes late, we will only be able to treat you if there is an open slot in the schedule. We need to first honor the standing time each patient has booked before we can treat late-arrival individuals. If there is not an open slot, it is considered a missed/late cancel appointment and a fee is charged (see below). We understand that charging this fee is not pleasant to enforce or pay, and it may be disappointing to not receive treatment especially if you are in pain. As a small business, we believe this policy is in alignment with respecting the time and energy of everyone who needs and provides services at Common Good Acupuncture.

    Rescheduling...
Can be done through our scheduling website HERE up to 24 hours before your appointment - It may be easiest to keep the confirmation emails and/or login info handy, in the event that you need to make any changes.

    Cancellations, Missed Appointments

We make every attempt to make acupuncture available to as many people as possible, at some of the most affordable rates in NYC. Our intention is to offer high-quality healthcare at affordable prices and because of that we ask for at least 24-hour advance notice if it is necessary to cancel an appointment.
All appointments that are cancelled with less than 24-hour advance notice or missed without notice (for any and all reasons) will be charged $30 for follow up treatments and $40 for first time visits. We can not afford to absorb the costs of missed appointments and late cancellations. If appointments have been purchased in a package, the missed or cancelled appointment will be deducted from the number of remaining appointments in that package. This policy is strictly enforced.
No-show and last minute cancellation fees are a standard practice across most single-provider appointment-based industries, and acupuncture is no exception.

    Mask Policy

Based on CDC recommendations, masks are optional for appointments that are not noted on the schedule as "mask required". We reserve "mask required" hours at the clinic for people who need and want extra protection from potential pathogens or are at higher risk of illness.
Additionally, we ask patients with a cough, cold, or frequent sneezing to wear an N95 mask.
When mandatory, masks must fit over the nose and under the chin with no gaps.
Our mask policy is subject to change at any time.
N95 3m Aura masks and KN95 masks are both available for purchase at our check-out area for $2/each.

    Dogs
Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed at the clinic. Service animals should be identified as such with visible insignia.
If you need additional information, please refer to this link: https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-faqs/

    We do not treat animals.

Common Good Community Acupuncture welcomes people of all genders, sexes, races, colors, incomes, national origins, ages, abilities or disabilities, marital statuses (legal or otherwise), immigration status, familial situations, religions, sizes and shapes, HIV status, sexual orientations, occupations, and political beliefs. Your level of care will never be based on any of these factors. Nor will it be based on how much you pay on our sliding scale.
Hate has no home here.

We follow the Principles of Harm Reduction, keep Narcan on-site at all times, and will not pass judgment about addiction or any pharmaceutical or recreational drug use.

We will not comment on your weight or monitor your size. We believe that humans can be healthy at any size, and that weight stigma can cause terrible harm, especially in healthcare settings.

Feel free to come into the clinic in a way that feels most comfortable and easy for you. You do not need to apologize for messy hair, unmanicured toenails, unshaved legs, or wearing your gym clothes.

We follow the principles of Trauma Informed Care, which endeavors to help people feel more physically and psychologically safe. We understand that many people have experienced traumas (including medical traumas) in their lives. This is part of why we treat people in an open room with limited sensory stimuli, we give you as much control over your environment as possible, and also try to be very transparent about all of our policies. We want you to be informed, active collaborators in this process.
We understand that due to factors such as trauma, socialization, and cultural expectations, some people are not able to actively advocate for themselves or communicate in moments of stress/distress -which could include any part of visiting our clinic. We will do our best to notice external flags of discomfort (facial expressions, recoiling) and check in about it. We will proactively ask for consent before moving clothing. You're welcome to tell us your accessibility needs, we will do our best within our means to accommodate.

We will not pass judgment on food, occupation, and lifestyle choices, and in any case don't have the time to discuss these topics at length. We would rather focus on helping you make it through another day of late-stage capitalism than judge what you do to make that happen. We believe in autonomy <3 We are here to meet you where you are at! We hope you will meet us where we are at, too. We probably won’t get all of this right all the time….but we are truly trying!
